Meet Melissa Trinkl: Founder and COO of Vino and Canvas
We had the good fortune of connecting with Melissa Trinkl and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Melissa, as a parent, what have you done for you children that you feel has had the most significant impact?
I love being a parent. I have two children of my own, Jack (age 4) and Charlie Rose (age 2). I also have one bonus child, Ricky (age 16). I started my business…
Meet Melissa Trinkl of Vino and Canvas
Today we’d like to introduce you to Melissa Trinkl.
Melissa, let’s start with your story. We’d love to hear how you got started and how the journey has been so far.
I attended college at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV) where I received a Bachelor of Science in Hotel Administration with an emphasis in Meetings and Event Management and a Master of Hospitality Administration.
Founder and COO
I was employed within the hospitality industry while living in Las Vegas, Nevada for nearly 20 years. I had obtained a college education in Entertainment and Events management and with a love of all things wine and craft, Vino and Canvas was born. Having been an independent contractor for many many years and having moved to Cave Creek, Arizona to be with the man of my dreams, I craved a new business venture. Vino and Canvas was founded in December of 2012, shortly after having moved to the Grand Canyon state. Our first public painting class took place at Terroir Wine Pub in Scottsdale, Arizona on March 17, 2013; St. Patrick’s Day. We painted a modified version of Picassos’ The Dream. We created another version of this same painting at our five-year anniversary, and we’ll do it again at our ten.
Many of the customers we have had are like family to me. They have witnessed my life change first-hand. Customers have become dear friends and have been a part of my many life celebrations such as marriage and childbirth. My husband and I were married in May of 2014. We had our first child, Jack, in July of 2015 and are second, Charlie Rose, in July of 2017. Our children are a huge part of this business and its truly a gift to be able to share art with them. I am forever grateful for our customers and lifelong friendships this business has helped to form.
In 2020, I graduated real estate school and embarked on a real estate career with Keller Williams Realty Sonoran Living. Our hands-on hospitality business was in the middle of a pandemic, and I felt like it was the right time for me to pursue additional dreams. We survived 2021 both in hospitality and real estate. Today, I have combined my love of art and real estate thru Melt Luxe – The Art of Luxury Living.
Whether you’d like to fill your home with love, laughter, and art with one of our memorable painting classes or if you’d like assistance in real estate, I can assure you an incredible experience.
Lead Art Instructor and Professional Artist
Born and raised in the San Fernando Valley of Southern California, some of my earliest memories are as a little girl sprawled out on the floor surrounded by crayons, coloring books, and drawing paper. That urge to create grew stronger through the years, and so all of my schooling centered around art.
While raising a family in rural Oregon I worked on various community art projects…. everything from t-shirt designs to school stage scenery. After moving our family to Phoenix in the 90’s, I operated a mural business where I could pursue my love of “painting big”. And while I still do an occasional mural, most of my time is spent in teaching art throughout the greater Phoenix/Scottsdale/Cave Creek areas. I love to teach, and I love to paint. So painting classes are a real joy for me.
I feel there is so much creativity inside every person, but it is often hidden. An art class can be intimidating if you know you are going to be surrounded with experienced art students. Maybe you have an urge to paint, but don’t want to be pressured to invest in supplies and curriculum, or to measure up to the person sitting next to you who has been to every paint class under the sun. And although, as a professional artist, I have sold many paintings through the years, I have work hanging in a Scottsdale gallery, and also in the State Capital in downtown Phoenix, and I love to teach on a professional level, I also want to encourage more FUN.
When I found Vino and Canvas, I was so excited to find a company that promoted the lighter side of teaching art. Our Vino and Canvas clients are encouraged to “Just play, have a glass of wine, and get your artistic buzz on!” Absolutely perfect. What better way to explore your creative side. Vino and Canvas supplies everything you need to enjoy your painting experience. You just come and have fun. Our clients are thrilled and surprised with their completed paintings, and many of them have never picked up a paintbrush before!
Vino and Canvas supports local establishments and this is also a fun way to try a new bar or restaurant. The Vino and Canvas online calendar and registration system makes it easy to find a class that is just right for you. They do all the work so that you can relax after a long day, and just have fun. So find a class and join us.
